Abstract
Abstract
This paper presents an autobiographical account of the first author's own experiences with respect to learning the specific striking task of a golf swing. The question whether a sporting background may favor or hinder the learning of new, related motor skills is expounded and discussed with reference to relevant biomechanical principles and current perspectives in motor control and learning.
