Abstract des Autors

The article refers a common pathology typical of the so-called "violent" sports activities such as volleyball, basketball, skiing, rugby, motorcycling, boxing; in ice hockey there is also some incidence of traumatism of the hands. The lesion of the collateral ligament might affect the long fingers both on the metacarpus-phalangeous and the proximal inter-phalanx articulations. This traumatic pathology may also be found on the metacarpus-phalangeous articulation of the thumb. An inadequate treatment of these lesions may leave considerable disabilities; the article therefore reports diagnostic and therapeutical criteria based on the use of splint and orthesis for the conservative treatment and surgical operations with the prevalent use of the pull-out technique with details of personal technique.
