Abstract des Autors
Before the paralympics; in 1996, almost all the members of the selection of the Dutch Association of Sport for the Disabled underwent a so called medical topsport investigation. Beneath the common goals of such an investigation, we could get normal values for this population. Furthermore it is a first step to create sportsmedical facilities for this population that are equal to that of non-disabled sportsmen and sportswomen. We can carefully conclude that the aerobic capacity lays in normal ranges. Disabled top level sportsmen and sportswomen also have injuries specific for the sport they participate. Verf.-Referat
