Abstract des Autors

This article focuses on the development of two soccer field tests: the Interval Sprint Test (IST) and the Interval Shuttle Run Test (ISRT). The alternation of periods of exercise and periods of (active) rest characterize both tests. The IST pretends to measure general sprint capacity, repeated sprint capacity, and maximum sprint speed. The ISRT is developed tot measure a cyclic aerobic endurance. Reliability (test-retest) and discriminating capability (differences between playing levels and player positions) were studied within players of five soccer clubs on premier and first division amateur level. The IST proved to be reliable only for measuring general sprint capacity. The ISRT proved to be reliable. Results showed no significant differences between playing levels and player positions for both the IST and the ISRT. Further research is needed towards the validity of both tests. Verf.-Referat
