Abstract des Autors

Pelvic fractures are generally thought of as injuries associated with high-impact trauma and are potentially life threatening. Massive hemorrhage and gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and neurologic injury are potential "local" complications that the physician must consider, as are systemic complications such as adult respiratory distress syndrome and fat embolism syndrome. In this report, an unusual and previously unreported injury in hockey, a pubic ramus fracture from low-impact trauma, is described. The classification, considerations, and concerns in the management of pelvic fractures also are discussed. Verf.-Referat
