Since years, baseball is one of the sports of the German Sport Association with fast-growing participation rates. Accordingly, the frequency of injuries and manifestations of overload damage has also increased, particularly in the case of baseball pitchers. In general, baseball belongs to the low-risk sports. In the case of pitchers, there is an incidence of 0.064 injuries per 1000 hours. The overload damage occurs in 55% of all cases in the elbow, in 40% in the shoulder, and in 5% in the back.
