Abstract des Autors
Exercise-induced rhabdomyolysis, which has been seen primarily in military recruits and elite athletes, is now being seen in the general population as more recreational athletes exercise strenuously. Rhabdomyolysis has been reported in situations of extreme heat or outdoor exercise and often occurs in otherwise healthy individuals. Some researchers have reported that it is exceptionally rare in women, yet there is no conclusive evidence to explain why exertional rhabdomyolysis would occur less frequently in female athletes at any conditioning level. We present a case of rhabdomyolysis occurring in a woman as a result of physical exertion. Verf.-Referat
