Abstract des Autors

The play of golf requires muscular strength, quickness, agility; the ligaments, joints and muscles must be elastic. In addition, mental and physical stamina are of vital importance. It takes years for a good golfer to play consistently and successfully. When looking at the preventive medicine aspects, consideration should be given to the fact that the player's energy exchange rate is elevated for hours on end. Golfers have a higher breadth of performance and good circulatory regulation. Even when golf is played with lower physical intensity, a game can last for many hours. This extra physical activity reduces the risk of coronary heart disease. Since the amount of individual exercise is easy to determine, this sport is very suitable for kinesiotherapy, especially since dysrhythmias are not more commonly observed in coronary patients. The game of golf is made up of exercise-related psychophysical components. Compared with the normal population, the heart size and general performance capacity of golfers are within a favorable range. The positive changes in cardiovascular and metabolic parameters are attributable to the players' generalized and specific training. Verf.-Referat
