Abstract des Autors

The mitral valve prolapse is one of the most frequent cardiac anomalies found in cardiology and sports medicine. The purpose of this study is to assess the variations of hypo and/or hyperkinetic arrhythmia between the subsequent ones (average follow-up: 3 years at least) in the athletes having such anomaly; in other words, we have analysed the influence of sports actitivities on arrhythmia. We have therefore examined the clinical and instrumental ratings of all athletes (n=80) with mitral valve prolapse, during the last ten years at the "Centro di Medicina dello Sport dello USL no. 10" in Jesi. We can deduce from the results of the research that the arrhythmia risk is commonly slight and according to our experience, mitral valve prolapse athletes don't show a considerable aggravation of hypo and/or hyperkinetic arrhythmia over time. With regard to this, we wish to update the cardiocase files relative to fitness for competitive sports in year's time and not after six months, above all for mitral valve prolapse athletes than don't bear evidence of other high-risk anomalies.
