Abstract des Autors
Fresh osteochondral allografting is a valuable procedure for resurfacing both small and large articular cartilage defects in the knee. This procedure takes advantage of the different biological properties of hyaline cartilage and bone, allowing transplantation of living, mature cartilage, and incorporation of the cartilage into the recipient through osseous healing. Clinical outcomes have demonstrated the efficacy of this technique in the treatment of a wide spectrum of articular lesions in the knee. Verf.-Referat
