Abstract des Autors

The aim of the study was to assess the differences in selected kinematic flight parameters between 10 of the most successful (B) and 10 of the least successful (L) ski jumpers, with regard the jump length at the 1996 World Cup Competition in Innsbruck. The flight phase of the ski jump was recorded by two cameras, located 15 and 74 m from the take-off edge. The positions of jumpers and the skis were analysed by selecting 4 velocities and 8 angle variables. The B-jumpers attained significantly higher in-run velocities and vertical velocities of the flight (Vy) than L-jumpers while no significant difference was found for the 15-m distance of the flight. A progressive rotation of the forward direction by the B-group was suggested for the 15-m distance of the flight as well as for the point of 74-m of the flight phase. Verf.-Referat
