Abstract des Autors
The aim of the study is to compare the late results of open versus arthroscopic meniscus resection in two different sportactivity groups. In 1986 in our department 397 meniscus resections were performed. 192 patients were included in the sample group (isolated meniscus lesion, less than grade I chondromalacia). 96 out of this group were selected randomly and 81 of them took part in the follow-up. There were 26 arthroscopic and 55 open surgeries. In 65 cases medial, 14 lateral and 2 bilateral partial meniscus resection was performed. The mean age of the patients were 31 (16-59) years, 51 of them were competitive and 30 recreational athletes, 60 men and 21 women. There was a personal follow-up examination on the 81 patients (anamnesis, clinical examination, X-ray, KT-1000). The results were compared on the basis of IKDC, OAK and Marshall-score systems. Most excellent results were measured in the arthroscopic-recreational group and most poor results were founded in the open-professional group. Verf.-Referat
