Abstract des Autors

Interests of Sports Medicine are various but all of them are very fascinating. They are concerned in fields running from neuro-physiological research to the evaluation of the functional fitness of the athletes, and spreading from diseases and injuries prevention to curative and rehabilitation activity. Authors were interested to evaluate these aspects by means of a bioethical approach. After a short summary about evolution of "Sport phenomenon" during the past, aims of Sport Medicine are introduced together with recommendations, deduced by Code of Medicine Conduct, for a right behaviour of the physicians devoting themselves to this activity. Aims of Sport Medicine are analyzed by means of universally recognized criterions such as benefits rather than harms, autonomy and justice. From a first revision Sport Medicine aims can be surely classified as positive and bioethically right because they are concerned in diesease prevention especially for young people. However, by a more attentive examination, some aspects can arouse embarrassment. In fact, athletic training and coaching can sometimes cause dysfunctions, therefore information and application of consent should be clear especially for the youngest. Additionally sport for its functions of diseases prevention and health precautions should be advised as a common good and hence the "right to the sports" should be guaranteed for the whole population especially for the more young people. As a result it is clear that official representatives of the Sport Medicine must feel in any way themselves responsible about these questions. Verf.-Referat
