Abstract des Autors
This article gives the results of a literature study concerning sports participation after amputation. It can be concluded that participation in sports is much lower after amputation. Being active in sports while using a prosthesis causes much discomfort with respect to the stump and leads to cardiorespiratory stress. There is a high impact on the stump during running, resulting in much discomfort and pain. Walking and running with a prosthesis is also much more stressing to the cardiorespiratory system, leading to a lot of fatigue and inability to be active for a longer period of time. In the article the possibilities to minimize the problems are being discussed. Verf.-Referat
