Abstract des Autors

A Salter-Harris type III fracture of the distal femur extends from the joint surface through the epiphysis and partially cleaves the physis to its periphery, most often medially. The fracture is often minimally displaced, if at all, and thus may be difficult to visualize on plain radiographs. In addition to a valgus stress causing a type III distal femur fracture, simultaneous stress involving deceleration and rotation may produce an ACL tear. Of the 23 reported cases of Salter-Harris type III distal femoral fractures, 4 were found in conjuction with an ACL injury. We report three cases of Salter-Harris type III fracture of the medial femoral condyle associated with an ACL tear. All three teenage football players were treated with arthroscopically assisted percutaneous screw fixation of the femur fracture and, in a second stage operation, ACL reconstruction. Verf.-Referat
