Abstract des Autors
The ventricular repolarization abnormalities (VRAs) are the ECG changes that most frequently need an accurate evaluation by the sport physician. The objective of this study is to determine the resting and stress VRAs prevalence in an athletic population observed by a Sport Medicine Unit and to differentiate the idiopathic forms from the secondary ones. We carried out a retrospective study analysing records regarding 8148 sportsmen submitted to medical examination in order to obtain the fitness for athletic in Sport Medicine Unit of Jesi from March 1983 to June 1996. One-hundred-eighty-four among 8146 athletes demonstrated VRAs. We observed that the resting VRAs are mostly idiopathic; in few cases (the secondary ones) they are sign of Diffuse Myxomatosous Disease (DMD). VRAs observed both in resting and stressing state are linked to DMD and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Stress VRAs (absent at resting) generally resulted idiopathic. Verf.-Referat
