Abstract des Autors
The diagnosis of a simultaneous rupture of the ACL and the patellar tendon, a rare injury combination, is frequently missed during the initial assessment of an acute knee injury. Medial collateral ligament tears, as well as meniscal injuries, can often coexist with these other two injuries. In cases in which the mechanism of injury could be clearly analyzed, the mechanism was violent quadriceps muscle contraction in flexed, weightbearing knees. Primary repair of the patellar tendon is of foremost importance. Anterior cruciate ligament surgery can be performed at the time of the injury or later, depending on the evaluation of the patient and the preference of the surgeon. Verf.-Referat
