Abstract des Autors
Sedentary lifestyle is a risk factor of a number of chronic diseases. Despite the health benefits of the regular physical activity which have been justified in medical sciences, no real changes were going on in modifying behaviour of the population in this field. Getting into the institutions of higher education, the physical education is not compulsory for the students any more. However, regular sports activity would be quite important to prevent the worsening of their health state in the future. Health state and health behaviour have been investigated by our research team with special emphasis putting on the physical activity behaviour. It has been argued that physical activity of the students contains of little sports activity, especially among women. Significant differences could be found among the high and low physical activity groups. Students of the higher activity possess a better psychological well-being and health behaviour, and evaluated their own health also better. Students of the lower physical activity showed a higher frequency of psychosomatic symptoms. In case of women of the lower activity a higher occurence of sleeping disorders and fatigue, while in case of men of the same physical activity group, a higher frequency of headache, fatigue, and backache could be detected. There is a great need of further cooperation between the institutions of education and public health in this area. Verf.-Referat
