Abstract des Autors
Selected biochemical and hematological variables have been studied in venous blood of 14 recreational bodybuilders before and after a period of 10 weeks of training. Pre-training levels of uric acid, total cholesterol and, to a lesser degree, triacylglycerols and creatinine were elevated. The training induced significant changes in plasma creatinine (increase), total cholesterol (decrease), the latter one being advantageous due to diminishing the risk of coronary heart disease.
