In this article the results are described of a second evaluation study on the effects of advises given to injured sportsmen, who visited a sports medical advise center (SMS). For this study 313 patients were interviewed by telephone about their injuries. The results were comparable with those of the first study and also with those of some other authors. At the SMA mostly sportsmen with a chronic injury, especially of the knee, are seen. Two-third of the patients already had therapy without results. And for two-third of the sportsmen the SMA advise resulted in a positive effect: the complaints had totally or partially disappeared. Again many of the patients were content (83%). Furthermore the importance is proven of correcting static abnormalities of the feet with specific injuries of the low extremity. Indications were found that more specific skills of the doctor, as for instance a specialist in sportsmedicine has got, can lead to better results. In this respect the SMA still can play an important role. Verf.-Referat
