Abstract des Autors

Acromioclavicular displacement commonly occurs among athletes and its frequency is higher in dynamic and contact sports. Current approaches to the treatment are analysed. Sixty-six athletes who had non-surgical (38 cases) or operative (30 cases) treatment for acute or chronic aromioclavicular separation were studied prospectively. Conservative treatment was adapted for low gravity injuries, and in those who preferred to avoid surgical management, by three different methods. Operative procedure was performed in 45% of athletes following three methods (open reduction and internal fixation, syndesmopexis and tangential resection of the distal clavicle); nevertheless it is emphasised that 1st and 2nd degree injuries can be favourably adapted by non-invasive management. A final remark is made to correlate the results (of close or surgical treatment) with patient's sport demands. Verf.-Referat
