Abstract des Autors

The present investigations were designed to check the effect of creatine (Cr), creatine mixed with other compounds (CrC) and glucose (placebo: P) intake on several performance capacities (laboratory and field test). Two different groups of well trained athletes (female basketball players and cadets officers) were studied in a double blind method during supplementation of 20 g/die for five days of Cr, CrC or P. A third group of soccer players was studied during 6 weeks of 5 g/die of creatine supplementation. An increase of working capacity during Cooper and leg extensor exhaustive tests were observed in soccer players and cadets officers, after creatine supplementation. No changes were noted in the placebo group. In addition an increase in lactate produced as well as an enhancement of the working capacity in the first 30s of 45s continuous jumping test was found. No changes could be noted in the placebo group. No changes in jumping performances could be noted for both placebo and CrC basketball players. The improvement of the physiological and biomechanical characteristics observed in the subjects which were utilising creatine was attributed to a possible increase of creatine content inside the muscle. This in turn could enhance both aerobic and anaerobic metabolism process by promoting the resynthesis of phosphocreatine. Verf.-Referat
