Abstract des Autors
The common occurrence of lateral hip contusions in figure skaters led us to investigate and design an inexpensive, easily worn protective pad for hip protection during practices. It has been tested on skaters at all levels of competition, and has met with excellent results. It is less bulky than conventional hip pads, it is much more functional and practical to wear, and it will help prevent severe contusions to the hip, keeping competitors on the ice rather than in the training room and doctor's office.
