A number of computerised data management methods were experimented within the ambit of a study, referred to as "Amico Sport", to define the approach for an introduction to sport in pre-school-aged children. The aim was to enable information useful to the programme to be easily used, as well as ensuring every possible functional interconnection between data. A team of experts elaborated the software which comprised a data bank of the games to be used and their correlation with the selected areas of motor stimulation, and a data bank containing both static information, deriving from the initial assessment of each child participating in the project and dynamic data obtained through periodical individual controls of learning and development. Different modes of access to data were also guaranteed so as to satisfy the various organisational and operative requirements of the research team. The use of this software has allowed the necessary information to be set-up, managed and made available using rapid and effective procedures, thus facilitating the work and controls forming part of the programme, as well as the identification of possible interpretative and operative paths. The results obtained show that a careful use of computer technology can lead to major benefits for those who aim to achieve an optimal method for introducing sport. Verf.-Referat
