Abstract des Autors

To determine the effects of pedal frequency on cardiovascular and respiratory parameters, 10 mountain bikers completed VO2 maximal progressive tests on a Monark cycloergometer at the pedal frequency of 60 and 100 RPM. Bikers were also studied during unloaded trials to assess the effects of varying rates of limb movements independent of external work load. The pedal frequency of 100 RPM make it possible to get the larger work loads, but not the larger VO2max. The pedal frequency of 100 RPM appear more economic at larger work loads. Verf.-Referat
