Abstract des Autors

The relationship between sleep disruption and exercise have been discussed from the point of view of possible disruptive effects of exercise on subsequent sleep and the adverse effects of disturbed sleep on exercise. In general, morning exercise is unlikely to compromise sleep regardless of the intensity and duration of the exercise; mild to moderate exercise conducted in the late afternoon is likely to improve sleep, while high-intensity, long-duration exercise conducted too close to bed-time, or exercise to which a participant is unaccustomed, will disturb and disrupt sleep patterns.
