Abstract des Autors
This article discusses four chronic diseases of childhood: asthma, diabetes, neuromuscular disability, and anemia, and points out how these diseases can be managed for optimal athletic performance. The beneficial and adverse consequences of exercise on children is appraised. Recommendations are given regarding specific exercise or sports participation. Verf.-Referat
