Abstract des Autors

The overhead or throwing athlete risks developing a wide variety of shoulder disorders because of the repetitive nature and chronic stress associated with overhand or throwing motions. These activities may predispose the shoulder to tendinits, impingement syndromes, rotator cuff pathologic conditions, and even glenohumeral joint instability. Accurate diagnosis and successful treatment of these various conditions that are unique to the throwing athlete require a thorough understanding of the basic biomechanics of the throwing motion, and an appreciation of the delicate balance between shoulder mobility and stability.
