Abstract des Autors

The therapeutic management of many primary and recurring instabilities of the glenohumeral joint involves nonsurgical techniques. Early treatment, including diminution of symptoms, analgesia, and immobilization, is followed by intensive rehabilitation of the shoulder musculature. The incidence of recurrence and appropriate length of immobilization remain controversial aspects of the conservative treatment of shoulder instability. Appropriate rehabilitation for shoulder instability depends on a precise program that addresses the dynamic restraint system of the glenohumeral joint. Appropriate exercise programs that enhance scapular stabilization and the patient's neuromuscular control over the glenohumeral joint are outlined and emphasized. Verf.-Referat
