Abstract des Autors

Blood metabolic disturbances have been determined in top class wrestlers in response to arm and leg anaerobic exercises. Thirteen male, elite wrestlers were subjected to 30 s of leg cycling or arm cranking, performed on two separate days. Despite a significantly higher mean power output in the leg than the arm exercise (7.8 vs. 6.9 W/kg), the blood lactate level recorded 4 min after the exercise did not differ between the two modes of muscular work. The post-arm cranking blood lactate concentration was significantly correlated with mean power output (r=0.738). No such correlation was found after leg cycling. Both plasma inorganic phosphate and uric acid levels were markedly higher after leg cycling than after arm cranking. Verf.-Referat
