Abstract des Autors

Blood samples were drawn from the antecubital vein twice, before and after the exercise. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD-1) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) were determined in erythrocytes, the concentration of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) were determined in the erythrocytes and plasma. The performed exercise resulted in a significant increase of activities of studied enzymes and of TBARS concentration in plasma, while the increase of TBARS in erythrocytes was only slight and non-significant. This finding suggest that physical exercise may impose an oxidative stress on body cells. The effects of a submaximal physical exercise (75% VO2max) on the antioxidative activity of erythrocytes and on lipid peroxidation in 14 healthy male volunteers were studied. Verf.-Referat
