Abstract des Autors
Sheldon somatotypes have been determined in 95 wrestlers (Graeco-Roman and free style) from anthropometric and body component measurements. Among them were 40 elite senior athletes and 55 elite juniors. It has been found that most successful were athletes of a massive build, predominantly mesomorphic, with a small endomorphic and only a trace ectomorphic components. Athletes differing in age and/or weight category, differed also regarding the magnitudes of body build factors. Meso- and ectomorphy proved significantly correlated with age, and endo- and mesomorphy - with body mass.
