Abstract des Autors
Information relating to accident, injury and mortality associated with sport and recreational fishing activities was collected from a survey of Australian recreational and sport fishing organisation executive committees; focus group discussions held with club anglers; and records available from state and national emergency services, coroners' offices and medical facilities. Profiles of Australian sport and recreational fishing-related accidents and injuries, and factors contributing to the morbidity and mortality of Australian anglers are presented along with recommendations for individual and organisational strategies to promote safer angling.
