Abstract des Autors
Sport offers an excellent circumstance to study the development of expertise because the knowledge and skill involved can be circumscribed and defined. Two aspects of sport are different from most other areas of expertise: Decisions have to be made within rapid time constraints, and knowledge about how to perform and performance are not necessarily related. In this paper we discuss these issues in a developmental model and consider the relations among knowledge, skill, and game performance. In particular we point out several of the methodological issues that can confound research in this paradigm. Verf.-Referat
