Abstract des Autors

In 10 elite biathletes testosterone (T), cortisol (C), T/C ratio, white blood cells (WBC), and hemoglobin (Hb) were determined during a five month period. Training was the same for all athletes for 4 months: after this period 7 subjects (group 1) continued the activity and 3 reduced it (group 2). In this drawing C serum concentration was significantly lower (5 %), T and T/C ratio significantly higher (5 % and 1 % respectively) in group 2 than in group 1; WBC were significantly higher and Hb significantly lower (1 % for both) in group 1. The variations in the hematologic parameters seem to correlate to the hormonal variations. It is concluded that hard training can significantly alter hormonal blood levels and some related hematologic variables. The reduction of training can be sufficient to rapidly restore the hormonal balance and consequently some hematologic variables. Verf.-Referat
