Abstract des Autors

The purpose of this study was to compare jumps for maximum height performed with a counter movement (CMJs) and from a static starting position (SJs) across a range of movement amplitudes. Each of six physical education students performed 50 CMJs and 50 SJs with varying knee angles at the commencement of the upward movement of the whole body centre of mass. Movement amplitude was determined as the vertical displacement of the centre of mass during the upward movement to the instant of last contact with the force platform. CMJs and SJs were compared in terms of the peak force and force pattern across the range of movement amplitudes. All subjects gained a benefit from the counter movement and achieved greater kinetic energy in CMJs than SJs due to enhanced peak forces or more effective force patterns. Verf.-Referat
