The expanding popularity of sports for girls and women mandate familiarity with medical and musculoskeletal problems unique to females. Although much of the preparticipation examination is identical for males and females, certain areas require specific attention. Preparticipation examinations tailored to female athletes allow safe participation by identifying areas requiring further evaluation and offering guides to proper rehabilitation and treatment.
