Abstract des Autors
A detailed description of the functional anatomy of the menisci of the knee is given. The importance of the role played by the menisci in the biomechanics of the knee is also discussed. All meniscal functions are investigated and analysed, with special emphasis on the role of the structures in ensurring ap. and rotary stabilization of the knee. Finally, attention is called to the arthroscopic aspects of the menisci, first of all in the field of diagnostic use. Verf.-Referat
