Abstract

Thirty seven athletes who underwent surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament were studied to gain long term results investigating the reproducibility and relevance of knee scoring tables. Evaluation followed Larson score, Lysholm score and OAK-evaluation. We compared the results in knee scoring tables to the measurements in stability and function and the return to preinjury activity level. All patients could be followed up. Twenty-four performance athletes were included. Larson scale showed 21 excellent and 3 good, Lysholm score 22 excellent and 2 good, and OAK 13 excellent, 10 good, and one fair. Larson and Lysholm scoring showed no significant better results in athletes regaining their preinjury sports level; therefore we gained no satisfactory result by these scoring systems. The most significant method we found in assessing athletes was the one-leg hop for distance. Verf.-Referat
