Abstract
Iliotibial band friction syndrome is a common overuse injury in todays running population. Training errors have been cited as a major factor in the development of iliotibial band friction syndrome, while many mechanical and anatomical alignment problems may predispose one to the injury. Muscle fatigue in those muscles involved in pelvic stabilisation may, however, be the primary cause of iliotibial band friction syndrome and the sudden onset of lateral knee pain. Verf.-Referat
