Abstract
The use of prosthetic devices to replace the anterior cruciate ligament has blossomed during the 1980s. Further research on such devices is warranted by several theoretical advantages such as decreased harvest morbidity, the potential for increased strength, and ease of insertion and revision. The author proposes a protocol for retrieval and analysis of prostetic debris and effusions as well as a review of specific prosthetic devices. Verf.-Referat
