Abstract

Loss of knee motion is the most common complication following ACL reconstruction. The loss of knee extension is more uncomfortable for the patients. The etiology of this complication is multifactorial. Retrospective clinical study was made using the data of the 340 patients, who were the subjects of ACL reconstruction between 1989 and 1990 in the Department of Sports Surgery of National Institute of Sports Medicine. The average time of follow-up was 17,7 months. The overall incidence of the loss of knee motion was 13,8. The authors examined the risk factors of this complication and expounded early experiences in the treatment of loss of knee motion. The treatment of stiff knee is a very difficult problem, the early diagnosis and distinguishing etiology of stiff knee are the first steps to the healing. Verf.-Referat
