Abstract

Ice hockey continues to be a very popular sport. Proper equipment has been shown to decrease the incidence of injuries. Boot-top injuries are an uncommon injury that can be incurred by hockey participants. Three patients were treated with boot-top lacerations. Two patients were treated withlocal wound care. The third patient required repair of severed toe extensor tendons and debridement of osteochondral fractures. The mechanism of injury and possible prevention are discussed. Verf.-Referat
