Abstract
According to a one year study in Vas County sports accidents constituted 11,2 of all of the accidents. The data were analysed from different points of view. On basis of the data from the point of view of healthy life the unfavourable fact was detected that the population, apart from soccer playing in men, early gives up regular sports activity. Among women above age of 19 sports accidents hardly occurred, indicating the early finish of sports activity. The most frequent was, identically with international data, the injury of the extremities, including mainly strains (fractures in youngsters). Sports accidents cuase lighter injuries than those suffered during occupation, transport or at home. Analysing the data of all accident injuries during a one year survey in Vas County the rate and the epidemiology of sports injuries were studied in details and were compared to international data.
