Abstract
For a variety of joint and soft-tissue maladies, aspiration and corticosteroid injection can be useful both diagnostically and therapeutically. The procedures are relatively safe, are easy to learn, and often provide effective relief for active patients. The author provides several practical tips on when and when not to aspirate and inject, how the therapy works, effective tools and techniques, and precautions to follow to avoid complications.
