Abstract

Enlargements at the calcaneal attachment of the Achilles tendon can cause heel pain. These bumps usually result from rigid, poorly fitting heel counters and are more likely to occur in patients who have a prominent posteriosuperior portion of the calcaneus (Haglunds deformity). Extrinsic irritation on this prominence can give rise to bursitis or Achilles tendinitis (Haglunds disease). Verf.-Referat
