Abstract des Autors
Plica syndrome of the knee - a potentially disabling condition - is caused when plicae (bands or pleats of synovial tissue) are aggravated by overuse or trauma. Symptoms include popping, clicking, effusion, swelling, pain, and interference with normal excursion. Analysis of questionnaires from 66 patients revealed that both surgical and nonsurgical management relieved the symptoms. Plica syndrome should be included in the differential diagnosis of knee problems. Verf.-Referat
