Abstract
Experience of 25 patients surgically treated for acute ligamentous lesions of the external tibiotarsal joint in June 1983-January 1986 and reexamined later is described. Particular emphasis is placed on certain methodological criterion on which selection of the most appropriate treatment is based. The results obtained are compared with data in the literature and it is demonstrated that if correctly performed, surgical repair is simple, problem-free and gives good long-term results.
