Abstract

Today computer represents an indispensable tool to medicine. Computer offers a very high quality/price ratio in comparison with few years ago. Anyway, computer power depends on the software. We try to create a program fast and efficient for sports medicine, able to support the doctor through all the stages of the examination of the fitness for agonistic sport. It takes a natural way from the anamnesis to the printed output, making choice through simples schemes easy to learn. The softwares open scheme consents to input variables in progress allowing a gradual files expansion. The data protection is guaranteed by a personal access code. The program saves the date both on the hard disk and on a floppy disk to assure a greater security. It doesnt need a particular hardware to use the program. We may use a standard IBM compatible desk top computer. Its possible, anyway, to expand the system using more than one computer, as we have chosen for the Sports Medicine Institute, CONI-FMSI, Bologna, without using a network. The sharing of the data is possible thank to the code access. Our program employs an exclusive module for the keyboard input through which it takes only few keys to make a complete sentence. Any sentence could be evaluated for statistics. We have spent time on statistics, of great importance in medicine, leaving wide space to the doctors initiative. It becomes simple to transfer ideas to the computer and we could get a resulting graphic in real time on the video an to the printer. Verf.-Ref.
