Abstract
The authors examine the clinical and medicolegal epidemiology of hand and wrist in basketball players, using the ambulatorial data of a specialistic Sports Traumatology Centre and the analysis of the insurance data in sports traumatology. This research has permitted to delineate the incidence and the kinds of the injuries. While the clinical data show an incidence of 19.9 (46.6 fractures) of these injuries, the incidence of the Public Insurance is 8 (80 fractures) and that of the Private one is 10 (60 sprains).
